At one point in my life, I went door to door selling Krispy Cream donuts, knowing whatever I didn’t sell that day we would be having for dinner that evening. I’ve sold dozens of things over the years including vacuum cleaners, carpet cleaning services, trucking school tuition, alarm systems, soap, and western wear clothing. 


I created my own system that helped me consistently close 40-50% of my sales year after year, with strong client retention. Additionally, I became the top performing sales person in every company I was a part of starting.

About me

I started in the business world at age 20, and married my wife at the same time. We moved into a 400-square foot cinderblock building where my great grandfather once used to cure hams. I started at below a humble beginning to say the least.  Over the next three decades I would go on to start or become a partner in six different businesses. I would sell multiple kinds of products, from Krispy Kreme donuts, to vacuum cleaners, and even driving courses for a truck driving school.


I sold anything that could be legally sold.


From food to network marketing, I got a first-hand course in sales and in what worked, and what didn’t. There was a time when if I didn’t sell those donuts then we had to eat them for dinner! A man can only eat so many donuts, so let’s just say I was highly motivated to figure out how to sell. I used humor, personality, looks, and whatever persuasive tactic I thought would work to sell whatever I was selling that day. Then, in 1986 I partnered in a landscape management company and finally began to pull together all the things I learned.

What I learned is that if you want to build your sales numbers, you have to build relationships. You have to be genuine, authentic, and you have to know and care about your clients. More than that, you have to know and care about yourself.
